RAAD Society Distributes Menstrual Hygiene Kits to 120 Girls in Galkayo Relocation Sites
RAAD Society, in partnership with the Ministry of Education of Puntland, has distributed menstrual hygiene kits to 120 female students across schools in the Galkayo IDP relocation sites of Halabokhad, Jehdin, and Salama. This intervention builds on recent WASH assessments and reflects RAAD’s commitment to dignity, protection, and inclusive education for displaced girls.
RAAD Society, in partnership with the Ministry of Education of Puntland, has taken another step forward in supporting displaced communities. After conducting WASH assessments in the relocation sites of Halabokhad, Jehdin, and Salama, we returned to these schools today with a very practical intervention: the distribution of menstrual hygiene kits to 120 female students.
For many girls in displacement settings, the absence of basic hygiene materials can mean missed classes, loss of confidence, and barriers to education. By providing these kits, we are not only meeting an immediate need but also affirming every girl’s right to learn in dignity and safety.
This initiative reflects RAAD Society’s broader commitment to humanitarian action that is both compassionate and practical. It is about standing in solidarity with vulnerable populations, protecting rights, and leaving a footprint of hope that empowers the next generation.
